Welcome to the home of Burnside Goldendoodles. We live in the beautiful Dumfries and Galloway region of Scotland, situated in the South West. We are approximately one and a half hours away from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Newcastle and three-quarters of an hour from Carlisle. We have lived in this area all our lives but in the small village of Shawhead for nineteen years.

We began our love affair with Goldendoodles after acquiring our own, Rosie, two years ago!! We already owned a labradoodle, Treacle, who joined our growing menagerie of several cats, one elderly pony, Tara, and her constant companion, Shaun the sheep! More recently, we have acquired two lovely pygmy goats called Bumps and Daisy......

Rosie has brought us nothing but joy. She really is the perfect dog. Biddable, laid back, extremely friendly and loving. Our two grandchildren (7 and 2 - we now have a third baby grandson!) are listed amongst her closest friends....... She gets on with other dogs, in fact loves all other dogs and is always ready to wag her tail at any strangers she meets. These are Rosie's photos on this page.

It is because of all these fantastic traits that we decided it would be lovely to have a litter from her. Before we went ahead, however, we felt it very important to have all her health checks completed. We were astounded at her checks. Her hip scores are 4 + 4 and she has completely clean elbows and a clear eye check. (Hip and elbow scores run for the dog's lifetime but eye checks must be renewed each year)

Following the excitement of finding out she was such a suitable candidate for breeding we set about finding the ideal "husband" for her.

We eventually found her perfect match. He is owned by Carol and Andy Gowing who live near Appleby and is called Bear. He is an F2 goldendoodle who has also undergone health screening with excellent results as well as being a loving, good-looking, fellow. They are a marriage made in heaven!!
